OUR STORY
Tanga Organics, a natural skincare brand in Kenya, was born from a deeply personal journey, rooted in curiosity, healing, care, and a desire to truly understand skin.
Founded by Joyce Rucha, who began her journey in the beauty industry as a makeup artist and cosmetic entrepreneur, she offered both products and services. While everything seemed to be working, one simple question from her clients changed everything:
“What exactly is in these products?”
That question sparked a deeper search.
In 2017, she began exploring natural skincare, learning, formulating, and working with locally sourced ingredients. What started as small batches shared with friends and family quickly grew into something meaningful: real results, real healing, real confidence, and real solutions. As the brand grew, so did the responsibility to create products that were not only natural, but truly effective and safe. This led Joyce to deepen her knowledge by training in cosmetic science and becoming a certified skincare formulator, allowing her to better understand both the skin and the science behind formulation.
Over time, one truth became clear:
The skin is an organ. It knows how to heal, we just need to support it.
Today, Tanga Organics exists to slow things down, to cut through the noise, and to bring skincare back to what truly matters.
We believe in respecting the skin for what it is, an intelligent, self-repairing organ.
And in embracing a simpler approach, where less is not lack, but intention.

OUR INGREDIENTS & IMPACT
Our ingredients are at the heart of everything we do.
We grow many of our herbs ourselves, including calendula, aloe vera, rosemary, geranium, citronella, comfrey, peppermint, eucalyptus, and lavender which go into our balms, cleansers and serums. This allows us to stay closely connected to our process, from soil to skin.
We also source locally wherever possible, work with and support local farmers and communities, and prioritise thoughtful, sustainable practices.
Every ingredient, whether plant-based or lab-refined, is carefully selected for both safety and performance.
